Valgan Valganciclovir is an antiviral drug generally used for cytomegalovirus infection of eye in adults who are suffering from AIDS. Generic Valganciclovir is used extensively for the prevention of CMV infection in children and adults who have undergone organ transplant such as kidney, heart and pancreas. Valgan tablet starts to decrease viral replication, thus lowering the symptoms. It is the alternative to the medicine Ganciclovir but do come with a high rate of risk. Some of the other diseases that it s used for are human herpesvirusm 8 and multicentric Castleman’s disease. In addition, it is used off label for the treatment of other opportunistic infections caused by HIV.
What is the appropriate dosage of Valgan (valganciclovir hcl)?
The recommended dosage for this drug is 900 mg every day once. It also can be taken without or with food, but always follow your doctors prescribed ways.
What are the Warning & Precautions before taking Valgan (valganciclovir hcl)?
While taking Valganciclovir breastfeeding must be completely avoided and is a strict ‘no’ for children without a doctor’s recommendation.
