This is a fixed dose medication for HIV treatment in people over the age of 18 years. The medication is indicated along with other HIV medications that have a different treatment mechanism. The drug contains two antiretroviral medicines – emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. Both these drugs inhibit the action of the viral specific enzyme known as reverse transcriptase.
