The medicine belongs to the category of antineoplastic agents which is prescribed for sickle cell anemia, certain types of cancers including chronic myelogenous leukemia, melanoma and squamous cell carcinomas. Also, it is used as an adjunct drug to the antiretroviral therapy for AIDS patients and for psoriasis treatment.
Those taking intermittent therapy are recommended to take one 80mg capsule orally every day. For those taking continuous therapy are advised to administer 20 to 30mg capsule as a single dose every day of the week. The capsule can be taken with or without food. Always get the permission of a specialist before administering the drug.

Bone marrow depression, loss of appetite, mouth ulcer, vomiting, constipation, nausea, skin changes, redness of the skin, rash and skin ulceration are some of the side effects which if become worse should be discussed with a specialist so that to eliminate any further health complications.
The capsules should be stored at room temperature (25°C-30°C) and away from the reach of children.
